Best Foster City Places To Go
(overview)
For new visitors looking for a pleasing recreation spot the main lagoon is usually the first destination of choice. If you like water sports this is definitely the place to start. Foster City’s big Recreation Center is located here too. You will find plenty to see and do around the lagoon including a wide variety of special events held throughout the year.
What most visitors don’t realize is that Foster City has more parks per capita than any other city in California. They are well developed and maintained as well. If you like city parks definitely also check out the smaller quieter parks including those with sandy beaches. There are plenty of walking/biking trails too including the SF Bay Trail.
Plenty of food destinations can be found on our food map. These include popular Asian restaurants, the standard chain fast food and snack food stores, and a few decent coffee shops.
While there are only a few shopping centers in town, the best shopping tends to be nearby outside of City limits. There is a Costco in town, a major Target Center to the west across Hwy 92, and Hillsdale Regional Mall a mile southwest down Hillsdale Ave.
To find more places to go we recommend that you look at our detailed index and our maps. Or, just start browsing through this website. You’re sure to find a destination that you will enjoy … even if you had previously thought there was nowhere to go in Foster City.
