Foster City Polynesian Festival 2018
E komo mai (means “welcome” in Hawaii). Bring the ohana (means “family,” i.e., no one left behind) and celebrate this big annual Polynesian Festival on the lagoon in Leo Ryan Park. FREE admission!
The date is Saturday May 5, 2018, 10 am-5 pm. See map below.
It’s both entertaining and educational. Cultural performances from award-winning professional Polynesian Dance companies from throughout the Bay Area will be featured. You’ll see Hawaiian hula dancers, Samoan sivas, Tongan kailao and the rhythmic Tahitian and Cook Islands drum dances.
There will also be food/arts/crafts booths and free outrigger canoe rides by Ho’okahi Pu’uwai, one of two very active outrigger canoe clubs headquartered in Foster City.
